About Us
Down and out, on the street and pain is all
around …
Every night hundreds of women and their
children are showing up at rescue missions and shelters in Central Florida.
Many of the families are being turned away because there is no more room at
the existing facilities. So where do they go? Unfortunately, most homeless
families sleep in their cars, abandoned buildings, park benches, or under
bridges. What environment does this create for their children?
Not so long ago, it was unusual to find women and children at shelters. How
times have changed! Today, homeless women with children are more common than
ever in one of the richest nations in the world. According to some
estimates, between 70% and 90% of homeless families in America are headed by
women. Even more significant, about 9 out of every 10 homeless mothers in
our country have been physically and/or sexually abused.
Domestic violence, loss of employment, eviction, illness, or lack of
affordable housing… No matter what the reason, women and their families no
longer have to face these rough times alone. Angels Trace serves as "a
bridge over troubled waters" by providing temporary support for women and
their children who are in the midst of crisis in the State of Florida, in
Orange, Seminole, and Osceola counties.
Angels Trace offers hope! Our plans include temporary housing that responds
to a family’s immediate crisis, as well as, a transitional living facility
which addresses the longer term needs of women and their children. Families
in our shelter and housing facilities will be provided with food, furniture,
clothing, intensive case management, spiritual guidance, mentoring, and
child abuse prevention and family violence awareness classes. Our programs
are found on a faith-based, service-enriched model of support.
Angels Trace is “Taking steps to
restore lives.”
